Senior MSK Physiotherapist in Occupational Health
Post: 37.5 hours p/w Monday to Friday.
A rare opportunity has risen for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 MSK physiotherapist to join our Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service.
This post will provide specialised physiotherapy services for KCH staff and external contracts with musculoskeletal conditions where your MSK expertise will be highly valued.
The role will work autonomously to assess, treat, and manage all referrals.

- A qualified and HCPC-registered senior MSK Physiotherapist with strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- A collaborative team player who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders across the Trusts.
- Active knowledge and exposure to NHS physiotherapy pathways

Overview
- Diverse MSK caseload: You'll manage a varied caseload of both management & self-referrals, offering face-to-face clinics in Denmark Hill and Orpington, as well as virtual consultations.
- Report writing and liaising with the OH multi-disciplinary team to case manage & advise on adaptations for work
- Preventative and proactive care
- Workplace-focused rehab: Use your clinical skills to assess fitness for work, recommend reasonable adjustments, & support staff in returning to or remaining in work safely.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
Independently assess, diagnose and treat employee via the King's College Hospital Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service, including those with complex MSK presentations and develop individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
Manage referrals, maintaining accurate, up-to-date clinical records and effective communication with the Occupational Health team.
To work as an effective member of the Occupational Health (OH) team, communicating appropriately with patients, managers, human resource advisors and other team members as required.
Use advanced clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment techniques grounded in current evidence-based practice.
Take a supportive role in assisting the Advanced Specialist Occupational Health Physiotherapist, supporting the daily running of the service and involvement in the development of the staff Physiotherapy service.

The SEQOHS-accredited Occupational Health, Wellbeing and Staff Psychology team work across sites supporting the needs of the Trust, our contractor partners and our local community businesses through the provision of our services.
The team of circa 43 whole time equivalent staff, include Occupational Health speciality clinicians from the following professional groups: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Accredited OH Consultants, OH Nurse Advisers, Clinic Nurses, Psychologists, Psychiatrist and the Wellbeing/Flu Lead. All staff work very closely together as truly high functioning MDT, supported by a business administration team.

To have specialist knowledge of a range of treatment skills including manual physiotherapy techniques, exercise and patient education. To provide physiotherapy to patients individually, or as a group.
To provide assessment and recommendations for people with musculoskeletal problems that are affecting their ability to work.
To ensure effective discharge planning within the team, liaising with other members of the Occupational Health MDT and /or GPs as appropriate.
To provide individual patient equipment as required, such as aids, splints and supports. To issue such equipment with due regard to safety of the equipment, and in line with legal, national and local guidelines.
To deliver physiotherapy in different locations, according to the requirements of the post e.g. Occupational Health Department at Kings College Hospital Denmark Hill and at Orpington Hospital.
There may be a requirement to cover other clinics or complete site visits in staff workplaces.
The post may require some lone working with telephone support from a seniorPhysiotherapist as required.

To attend multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and site visits to the main hospital. Ensure that the physiotherapy management of a patient is integrated into the multidisciplinary management and treatment plan and discharge planning.
Undertake other clinical duties as requested by the Advanced Specialist Occupational Health Physiotherapist within the clinical area.
