Post holder should contain technical administrative skills, strong problem-solving initiative, managerial and IT skills to ensure that high standards of governance are maintained and translated into a quality service for patients and hospital staff which safeguards patients whilst offering choice and making the best use of NHS resources.
Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Pharmacy Technician in Homecare, the post holder will support the delivery, oversight, and continual improvement of the Trust's homecare medicines service. Working under the Chief Homecare Technician, they will ensure medicines are supplied safely and efficiently to patients via external homecare providers.
Key responsibilities include managing administrative processes, monitoring provider performance, supporting financial reconciliation, resolving service issues, and ensuring compliance with national homecare standards. The post holder will lead audits, gather KPI data, contribute to service development, and help implement new homecare pathways.
The role also involves line management of homecare technical and administrative staff, supporting recruitment, training, inductions, appraisals, and performance management. They will act as a point of contact for clinical teams, finance, providers, and patients, ensuring excellent communication and problem solving.
They may also provide operational support to inpatient pharmacy services and deputise for the Chief Homecare Technician when required.
