Job summary
An exciting opportunity has risen for a clinical fellow (6 month fixed term post with possibility of extension) to strengthen the clinical and academic hepatology service at Kings College Hospital (KCH) and its network partners. Please note: previous NHS experience is essential for this post.
The post holder will have the opportunity to develop wide experience within the community liver health check (CLHC) project and liver cancer surveillance initiative. For the CLHC the post holder is expected to integrate clinical and managerial skills with primary care and secondary care aiming toimprove early identification of liver disease among at-risk individuals. The post holder is expected to oversee the project and review the dataset to ensure best practices align with the national programme.
The post holder will work in the community clinic and in the hepatocellular carcinoma clinic at Kings College one-two clinics per week and will work across the South East London Cancer Alliance (SELCA) to create the cancer registry. Furthermore the post holder will support data extraction from our network partners.

- Work collaboratively with the Clinical lead and Programme Manager to ensure internal and external activity levels and objectives are met.
- Attendance at two (2) clinical sessions per week at KCH in hepatology department or Tessa Jowell. However, flexibility in covering clinical commitments will be required.

- Provide regular and adhoc reports to update on progress of the project.
- One session is for administrative duties resulting from the clinical sessions for the writing of letters and the organisation and follow up of relevant investigations.
- Diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Trust in such hospital, health centres or clinics or other premises as required.
- Continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in your charge, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of, your staff.
- Act as a resource and support to patients and their relatives, explaining practical aspects of clinical trials.
- To assist in clinical audits and research projects to improve care.
