Job summary

To provide a professional, comprehensive and efficient reception and administration service to the Trust's outpatient clinics

To promote a positive image of the Trust's outpatient services through the provision of excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers and external stakeholders, demonstrating a commitment to putting patients first.

To ensure high standards of data entry and quality are achieved and sustained across all services, in both paper and electronic record-keeping. To ensure adherence to the Trust's Access Policy at all times.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of receptionist and general administrative support, to all outpatient clinics.

Be courteous and professional when dealing with patients, colleagues and other stakeholders, adhering to service guidelines and standards.

To ensure that everyone who attends the Haematology Outpatient department are treated with the highest level of customer care.

To be flexible and helpful in assisting colleagues and to abide by the Trust's standards.

Essential

  • ECDL or proven equivalent experience in MS Packages, email and Internet browsers.

Desirable

  • GCSE A-C grade in English or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous clerical/reception experience coupled with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff
  • Ability to work under pressure and exercise judgement when dealing with enquiries

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to register and process data accurately
  • Ability to prioritise work within fast changing environment and meet deadlines
  • Able to adapt to a busy environment and be flexible to the needs of the unit.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
