Job summary

Cotton ward is a fast-paced, 26-bedded ward specializing in complex Vascular, Cardiology, and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 5 staff nurse.. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic nurse who consistently exhibits professionalism, integrity, determination, and dedication to the patients and staff on Cotton Ward.

You must have the ability to promote patient-centered care and establish good relationships with patients and carers, as well as communicate effectively at all levels within the multidisciplinary team.

We are supported by our PDN team, who assist staff with continuous career development. We have a robust education plan and offer various courses to our staff, which helps us deliver excellent evidence-based practice to all our patients.

Main duties of the job

We need the successful candidate to be able to:

  • Be a safe and effective practitioner, able to provide high-quality nursing care to patients and support to relatives.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide continuing care to a specified group of patients from admission to discharge.
  • Supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as appropriate.
  • Maintain their own personal development with support.

Particular emphasis is placed at Kings on the need to ensure that all staff recognize their responsibility to deliver services in a high-quality, courteous, and patient-focused manner, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
