Job summary
This is an 8 PA fixed-term Locum Consultant post in the Department of Sexual Health andHIV. Applications are welcome from candidates with a relevant Certificate of Completion ofTraining (or within 6 months of completion of training and eligible for the specialist register)in Genito-Urinary Medicine. The remit of the post-holder will be to work primarily within theintegrated sexual health service at the Denmark Hill site but also to flexibly provide supportat the Beckenham Beacon site if required. The post holder will be expected to work withinthe multi-disciplinary teams in the Department of Sexual Health, providing clinical leadershipand supporting service developments. Additional clinical duties will be based around specialinterests of the candidate.
Main duties of the job

Provide consultant-led outpatient care to people living with HIV, including complex case management and long-term health monitoring.

Participate in the provision of integrated sexual health services, including the diagnosis and treatment of STIs and contraception.

Offer clinical leadership in managing acute and chronic HIV-related conditions.

Contribute to clinical governance activities, including audit, quality improvement, incident reporting, and service development.

Engage in teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior medical staff, nurses, and other trainees.

Support ongoing clinical research and service evaluation projects within the department.

- To provide a high quality service for patients attending Kings College Hospital with sexual health and contraceptive needs +/- HIV care. This includes all aspects of prevention, testing and treatment as well as relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.2. To share responsibility for covering colleagues periods of annual leave, study leave and short-term sickness.3. To provide clinical and educational supervision of junior medical staff, particularly Specialist Trainees and Foundation Doctors, as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues. 4. To support the educational development and training of nurses and non-clinical grades within the department5. To be responsible for carrying out teaching and examination duties as requiredand contributing to continuing medical education and clinical governance initiatives.6. To contribute to departmental research interests in accordance with the TrustsR&D framework and the departments research strategy.7. To contribute to clinical governance, risk management and the departmentalaudit programme.8. To take an active role in the delivery of the departments strategy and to lead on service developments within the department that increase access and improve patient experience9. To take an active role in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Divisions business plan.
