Job summary

This role is split across two hospital sites: the Princess Royal University hospital and the Denmark Hill site. The dietetic assistant will work closely with the dietitians to support the running of the department. Please refer to the job description and personal specifications for more details.

Main duties of the job

The dietetic assistant will work closely with the dietitians to support the running of the department. This role involves administrative tasks, for example answering phone calls, electronic communications including e-mails and correspondence via our electronic patient record system, and the stock management of nutritional feeds. It also involved clinical duties such as the co-ordination of group education sessions. Please refer to the job description and personal specifications for more details.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold a good standard of general education including GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Good understanding of the role as described in the job description

Desirable

  • A recognised secretarial or computer course
  • Degree or working towards a degree in a relevant subject e.g. Nutrition or Dietetics

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Relevant previous experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development or learning
  • Experience of team working

Desirable

  • Knowledge of working in the NHS
  • Knowledge and experience of a ward environment and awareness of general clinical conditions which may be encountered in this line of work
