Main duties of the job
o Participation in outpatient clinics
o Participation in MDMs
o Lead ward daily ward rounds
o Communicate with and advise external referrals 6 Surgery outcome/ theatre exposure
o Pancreatic resection (open and laparoscopic)
o Liver resection (open and laparoscopic)
o Laparoscopic/ open cholecystectomy
o Bariatric surgery and Surgery for Benign UGI conditions
o Elective and Emergency General Surgery

Kings provides a comprehensive medical and surgical bariatric service for adults in line with NICE guidelines. Kings is a preferred provider for bariatric surgery. The medical and surgical services work closely together to provide best quality of care for patients. Surgically the full range of procedures including gastric banding, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, sleeve gastrectomy and complex revision surgery are offered laparoscopically.
The Bariatric service is part of the Bariatric/Upper GI firm and consists of the medical staff noted above as well as dieticians, specialist nurses and specialist physicians. There are dedicated bariatric clinics and a joint specialist MDT with GSTT and Bromley. Kings performs around 600 Bariatric operations each year. Within the Upper GI firm.
