Job summary
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join our specialist team looking after patients with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria (PNH) within Haematology Services.
The post holder will be responsible for support in providing an effective administrative and secretarial service to the PNH team.
Main duties of the job
The role involves a wide variety of responsibilities including secretarial duties and clinic administration as well as liaising with external organisations such as NHSE, homecare providers and Pharmaceutical companies. Attention to detail is paramount for this role. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work directly with a wide variety of professionals within a friendly, hardworking and supportive team. You will also be the first port of call for the patients and be actively involved in organising patient events such as patient support groups.

Job responsibilities
Monitor monthly finance reports from funding body.
Update and maintain data for the PNH registry on a daily basis
Prepare PNH registry patient paperwork for weekly clinics
Provide service updates to the external funding body on a monthly basis
Use excel spreadsheets to create and maintain databases
Organise and attend bi-annual service meetings; Preparing and presenting demographical patient information
Prepare and attend PNH MDT Meetings once a month and keep a record of patients discussed and ensure that outcomes are recorded
Liaise with Homecare Nursing Service to resolve any patient queries and maintain a high standard of care
Assist with clinical trials and service audits as directed by the lead consultant.
Support the management for PNH Clinicians diary & travel schedules as required
Provide secretarial support to the PNH team

- Experience of working in an administrative environment.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
Desirable
- Prior experience in healthcare administration, medical office, or scheduling roles.
- Understanding of Patient Access Targets
- Proficiency in Epic, Patient tracking lists and Work-queues.
