Job summary

The Cardiac Catheter Lab at King's College Hospital is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse join their fantastic team for full time work.

The Cardiac Catheter Suite is looking to recruit an enthusiastic nurse that would like to develop their skills and career within Cardiology. The department offers world class services to its patients covering Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Imaging, Structural Heart Disease and implantable devices. It is a fast paced and exciting environment. With full training provided, you will soon become a key member of the Cardiac Cath lab Recovery team delivering expert care to our patients. As a member of the recovery team, the post holder will assist in preparation and recovery of patients undergoing invasive cardiology procedures. This will also include circulating and assisting in cardiac catheterisation procedures as part of the emergency on-call service. This is a fantastic opportunity for nurses that really want to make a difference.

The successful candidate will be supported by both unit managers and the rest of the friendly Cath lab Multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

Work with support, within a multi-disciplinary team to provide continuing care to a specified group of patients from admission to discharge.

Supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as appropriate.

Maintain own personal development with support.

Be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide high quality nursing care to patients and support to relatives.

  • To practice within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to this at all times
  • To assess, plan and evaluate individualised programmes of care for patients in partnership with the patient, their carers and the multi- disciplinary team
