We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Senior Employee Relations Advisor to an exciting role in this busy, specialist ER team at a major London hospital. The Trust, People Directorate and ER team are transforming the way in which they operate to provide a first class service to our patients and service users.
The post holder will need to work autonomously with minimum supervision and using their initiative to successfully deliver their work to an excellent standard. The post holder will also line manage a Band 5 Employee Relations Advisor.
The following experience, skills and abilities is required for this important role:
CIPD Level 5 membership
Excellent working knowledge of Employment Law and HR best practice
Good working knowledge of WRES/WDES, Just Culture principles
Subject matter expert on employee relations best practice models
A keen interest and previous experience in HR policy writing and development
Experience of working in partnership in a unionised environment and building relationships with Staff Side representatives
Ability to persuade others of point of view where there may be barriers and construct a convincing case
Self-motivated and able to deliver at pace
Excellent attention to detail
Able to display and use initiative and results orientated
Current CIPD membership and HR experience is essential.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible to the ER Manager and Head of Employee Relations for the provision of a professional high quality, comprehensive HR service to specific divisions / corporate functions.
Key areas of activity will include assisting, advising and supporting managers in relation to all employee relations issues, including advising and supporting managers with employee relations, terms and conditions of employment and Trust policies and procedures.
The postholder will coach, encourage and challenge managers and staff to explore early informal resolution to cases.
The postholder will be responsible for accurate, timely and comprehensive entry of data into various systems and spreadsheets to enable reporting.
The postholder will be held responsible for their performance and their area's performance.
