Job summary

The Finance Analyst is responsible for providing accurate, timely, consistent and efficient analytical information to support management decision making. This is a key supporting role to the financial recovery programme, working at all levels and functions within the Trust providing a highly advanced information development and analysis service to the Trust boards and external partners and agencies.

Main duties of the job

Programme and project management

Contribute to major strategic programmes, projects and initiatives.

Support across Strategic Planning, Investment and Efficiency providing information and data analytics

To understand all key processes within the department so that the post-holder is able to provide business continuity in service provision, and cover for members of the team in running standard processes and reports.

Support the qualitative and quantitative analysis and project audit as part of the benefit realisation process.

Support the analytical and reporting requirements of the strategy, annual planning and business planning cycles.

Prioritisation of workload to ensure all targets and objectives are met despite diverse pressures.

Build organisation analytical capability through:

  • Identifying team information and analyse required competencies
  • Providing team members with coaching and training to develop data and analytical skills
  • Designing and refreshing training materials

Assurance

Analyse service developments, business plans and business cases to ensure they are supported by robust financial / qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Advice on information and data analysis required to improve data recording processes where data quality issues are limited.

Responsible for regular validation of the information used to inform planning process and progress reports.

Reporting

To provide support on processes to automate regular processing and report distribution.

Ensure that all reports, internal and external are detailed, accurate and produced to schedule.

Devise new reports and provide them in a timely, accurate manner, using a range of complex, difficult data sources, drawn from across patient pathways and from multiple organisations

Provide a range of reports, outputs, reports, tables, presentation packs, forecast, data modelling and commentary on transformation indicators and other requested areas.

To present the results of any complex modelling work to non-information staff in clear and unambiguous ways.

Gather data and report on progress toward CIP programme objectives.

Data Analysis

Work with the PMO team to provide analytical support (financial, qualitative and quantitative) to continually develop and refine the CIP Programme.

Provide information analysis to support CIP and business planning process.

Maintenance of all the required trackers including adherence to version control.

Map and understand existing data available data and systems to create comprehensive change and service baselines.

Integrate quality and financial data into change and service plans in ways that make information visual and easy to understand / action.

Develop and maintain effective relationships and dialogue with providers and users of data to ensure opportunities for better information provision and usage are established.

Carry out external and internal benchmarking information and identify targets as part of CIP development.

Work across KCH, PRUH, KHP and beyond, to obtain and analyse specified data sets and to reconcile data held in different forms.
