Job summary
To be a Therapy clinical expert for King's College Hospital in outpatient assessment & treatment of patients with complex needs, in particular in the management of patients with Long Covid, using a biopsychosocial and goal-orientated framework- To undertake advanced assessment of people with Post-COVID Syndrome who present with complex multi-pathology resulting in physical, mental, and social health presentations. This may include using a range of assessment tools: o Comprehensive subjective history o Physical assessment screening e.g. sit to stand in one minute o Appropriate PROMS for e.g. fatigue, breathlessness and mood.
- To formulate, evaluate and reassess individualised management and / or treatment plans, using clinical reasoning and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options in order to formulate a specialised programme of care.
Main duties of the job
1.0 CLINICAL AND PROFESSIONALPatient Care- To take overall responsibility for the efficient, effective and safe management of all patients referred to their teams.- To work at an advanced level in the field of Long Covid, by receiving referrals, undertaking full assessment and independently diagnosing and then planning individual, specialised, evidence-based, treatment programmes for patients appropriately depending on the Therapist's diagnosis, using advanced clinical reasoning and a variety of evidence-based, expert skills.- To deliver or work towards extending own scope of practice within the field of Long Covid assessment & rehabilitation. To recognise boundaries of own extended scope of practice as it develops and to manage associated clinical risk at all times
