Main duties of the job

Working in a clinical neurosciences centre, you will be supervised by a clinical paediatric neuropsychologist and form part of the neuropsychology department within the centre, consisting of 13 wte clinical neuropsychologists, three of whom are Paediatric Neuropsychologists.

The job involves providing a clinical psychology and neuropsychology service to paediatric patients on Lion ward at King's College Hospital, which is a neurosurgical (brain and spine surgery) unit, which has 10 beds, including two beds known as "Nicole's Sweet", which provide intensive rehabilitation for children after acquired brain injury. The post holder will join a large multidisciplinary team supporting the children on the ward, which includes doctors and nurses, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, play specialists and social workers, and will work in conjunction with the team. The post holder will provide a neuro-psychologically informed consultation and intervention outpatient service for the Children's Head Injury Service at KCH. They will also contribute to the provision of the general paediatric clinical neuropsychology outpatient assessment service at King's.

The job would suit some interested in gaining further qualifications in Paediatric Neuropsychology who is looking for a role where they can gain a wide breadth of experience, within a supportive team.
