Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably skilled MRI radiographer to join our team at an exciting time for our department. We are expanding and renewing our imaging facilities and are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Diagnostic Radiographer to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at the Princess Royal University Hospital. We have just installed a top of the range 1.5T Siemens Sola and are currently replacing our other MRI scanner with a brand new 1.5T GE Signa Voyager which will be completed in April 2024.
This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious Radiographer with proven team leading skills and MRI knowledge, to not only teach, develop and line manage our staff but to also develop their own career prospects within a supportive structure.
We are looking for highly motivated and hardworking candidates with an aptitude for complex problem-solving, practice-based teaching to inspire a first class, patient centred, service.
In addition to our Outer London Weighting, our internal training and support has long been a draw for candidates as it has enabled numerous Radiographers to develop the necessary skills for further career progression and advanced practice. Continued Professional Development is encouraged and supported in the department.
Main duties of the job
Our current 1.5T GE MR 450 MRI scanner performs a wide range of examinations including Neuro, General, MSK, Gastro, Hepatobiliary, Gynae, Oncology, Paediatric, ENT, Breast, Angio and Urology studies. During this financial year we will replace this scanner with a GE Voyager AIR and a highly specified Siemens Sola, expanding our capacity and complexity of services provided.
We have just replaced our 2 CT scanners with brand new GE Revolution Ascends. Successful candidates will be expected to undertake and teach a wide variety of CT scans from oncology, paediatric, vascular and orthopaedic to more specialised Cardiac, Interventional, Trauma and CT Colonography in our bustling department. Experience in these specialities is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be expected to not only lead by example in their clinical excellence but also be able to mentor our more junior staff and be involved in day to day management and development of our service. We provide a 24/7 service which is relied upon by our Regional hyper-acute stroke service on site.
The candidate will have proven experience in MRI. There is also an expectation for management experience that is essential to this role as you will be team leading.
