Job summary

In order to continue improving the services we provide, we are now hiring a Band 7 Clinical Coordinator to manage the Inpatient Theatres Anaesthetic Team.

We are seeking a qualified, professional person to lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary theatre anaesthetic team. As a key member of the theatre anaesthetic team you will deliver high standards of peri-operative care as well as supporting the anaesthetic practitioners to deliver excellent patient care at all times.

You must be a theatre anaesthetic clinical expert through formal qualification (Degree/Masters), with extensive clinical expertise in this area. You will have senior Band 6 level experience and current anaesthesia knowledge. Post registration education in teaching skills (e.g. ENB 998, SSSA) and ENB A94 or equivalent Theatre Anaesthetic course qualifications are essential.

Main duties of the job

You will have the motivation, vision and leadership qualities necessary to lead a safe, productive and efficient anaesthetic team. As a key member of the team, you will have the ability to support, teach and develop junior and experienced staff and facilitate the delivery of high standards of patient care within the operating theatres.

Your role will require provision of safe patient care within outlying anaesthetic service areas of the hospital. You will participate and role model in the sanitising, replenishing, and setting up of operating rooms and the maintenance of equipment.

You must be a team player, have strong communication skills, be able to maintain calmness under pressure, and be able to interact with the MDT, matrons, and floor coordinators in an effective manner. Assuring demeanour, knowledge of patient rights, privacy, and dignity, as well as commitment to patient safety, are also essential to this role.
