Job summary
The post is a result of the collaborative cancer patients improvement programme aimed to provide people with cancer with an excellent experience of care and commitment to support cancer care as the trust top quality priorities.King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has two Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) sites working closely together, Denmark Hill and PRUH Chartwell CDU.
We work collaboratively across the South East as part of South East London Cancer Alliance (SELCA). We are also part of King's Health Partners and have close links with Guy's Cancer Academy and King's College London.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will join our growing dynamic team. You should be confident person who enjoys challenges. The candidate will be working closely and supporting our senior chemotherapy navigator to schedule patient's treatment to ensure smooth and effective service within Chemotherapy Day Unit.
Main duties of the job
Key objectives for the service are to:
- Coordinate the administrative process of patient pathway in the unit
- Ensure that all documentation is completed prior to patient's appointment
- Highlighting any potential delays in the patient's pathway and the senior chemotherapy navigator to mitigate these problems
- Cover the receptionist and senior chemotherapy navigator in their absence.

- Ensure investigations and diagnostics are booked prior to i.e. blood tests, COVID tests, ECG, ECHOs and PICC line insertions.
- Co-ordinate patient documentation, including investigation results, prior to and during their attendance at the CDU.

- Communication skills- able to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professions.
Desirable
- Knowledge or previous experience of PiMs/EPR/Mosaiq
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the service.
