Job summary
Work has commenced on implementing a trust wide digital system to improve patient experience, streamline physician work, allow seamless sharing of patient notes and results with both hospital and community healthcare providers, improve audit and research and reduce patient risk.
A unique opportunity has therefore presented itself, which is tailor made for a candidate who is looking to improve their understanding of digital software usage and its implementation. The roll out of digital software is likely to continue across all trusts up and down the country, and the experience and knowledge of implementing software in a large teaching hospital would prove invaluable skills for a candidate looking to take this forward this to a consultant role in the future.
The trust has chosen Epic (www.epic.com) for its digital transformation.
This post is offered as a Fellowship Digital Transformation for a period of six months, extended to two years if there has been satisfactory progress.
The post is divided into two parts. 50% of the time the post holder will be expected to focus on delivering Epic to Women's Health. This will include attendance to meetings, refining current Epic interfaces for use within our department, and finally focusing on the roll out and training of staff
Main duties of the job
- Implementation of Epic - detailed to the internal working of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Ensuring any additional software used within Women's Health is linked with Epic or possibly replaced with software that can be connected.
- To show team working ability and develop leadership potential.
The post will be a full-time equivalent to ST6-7 level in obstetrics and gynaecology at KCHFT working within Women's Health Care Group. All duties are undertaken with suitable senior support.
