We are currently recruiting for a Trust Grade Foundation Year 1 Doctors to join the Princess Royal University Hospital (BR6 8ND).
Successful individuals will join the Acute Medicine Department at thePrincess Royal University Hospital. This gives you an amazing opportunity to take your foundation medical experience gained into an environment where you can develop your acute care skills.
Main duties of the job
Acute Medicine at Princess Royal University Hospital supports the admission of all Medical patients on the Emergency Pathway (the Medical Take), the Acute Medical Unit (56 beds) and the Ambulatory care Unit. Individuals will get the chance to focus on managing acutely unwell patients within the first 48 hours of admission and will gain experience of managinga broad range of medical conditions during the acute phase. Under the supervision of Acute Medicine Consultants the post-holder will benefit from experience in ambulatory emergency care and will be able to develop their procedural skills. This post would be suitable for any trainee who has completed their medical training and is ready to enter the NHS at Foundation year 1 level. Although this appointment is not accredited for training through HEE, the appointee will be expected to participate fully in the educational and training programmes within the department and the hospital. The Acute Medicine Department has an exciting teaching programme which includes instruction in skills such as resuscitation, acute ultrasound andlumbar puncture.
