Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to take up a Band 7 position as Senior Resuscitation Practitioner with the Resuscitation Services department at Kings College Hospital, London. You will join a large dedicated team who are committed to delivering a comprehensive, efficient and effective service across the Trust.

The post requires a motivated individual who has an interest in resuscitation. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and flexibly within a team.

In the role of Senior Resuscitation Practitioner, Clinical teaching forms a large component of the role. However, it will also include attending medical emergencies and cardiac arrests, audit, administrative tasks and organisation of emergency equipment provision across all Trust sites.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, Operating Department Practitioner or registered Paramedic and have considerable post registration acute or critical care experience. You will be an existing Resuscitation Council (UK) ILS or PILS Instructor and hold a teaching /assessing qualification or evidence of formal teaching. Applicants should be an Advanced Life Support instructor or either in EPALS , NLS or APLS instructor.

The post involves running practical training sessions and theoretical courses on all Trust sites, and considerable flexibility is expected to accommodate the teaching programme and setting up / packing away of equipment before and after teaching a course. The position will require the post holder to undertake the physical effort of teaching CPR on a daily basis.
