Job summary

We are looking for a potential candidate with Registered Nurse or IHCC qualification with at least a year's theatre scrub experience in major abdominal and vascular surgery to join the Liver Transplant Team. The Liver Unit at King's is one of the busiest in the UK and Europe and is the supra-regional and international treatment centre for liver diseases.

You will be part of the King's NORs Team trained for scrub and Operating Perfusion Practitioner in multi organ retrievals with a rotational theatre experience in paediatric, adult Hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery. The on call rota is an integral part of your duties for retrievals, liver transplantation and emergency surgery.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Practice

  • To practice within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to this at all times
  • To assess, plan and evaluate individualised programmes of care for patients in partnership with the patient, their carers and the multi-disciplinary team
  • To participate in the on call rota to scrub or as donor technician for multi organ retrieval, for liver transplantation, hepatobiliary and emergency procedures

  • To assist in the medical non-medical trails of medical staff in research
