Main duties of the job
King's College Hospital is part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), a pioneering collaboration between King's College London, and Guy's and St Thomas', King's College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts.
Applications are invited for doctors with suitable experience to work as full-time clinical fellows within the department of transplantation and cellular therapy. This exciting opportunity has arisen due to significant expansion with the service including the expansion of the CAR-T programme. We are looking to appoint a Fixed Term Clinical Fellow for 12 months. The role will provide significant structured training in transplantation and cellular therapy and applicants will be encouraged to develop a research project with a view to undertaking an MD/PhD.
Nationally the transplant team at King's provides one of the largest services for adult stem cell transplantation. This includes both autologous and allogeneic transplantation for a range of haematological malignancies with a specialist interest in myeloid disorders and bone marrow failure syndromes. In addition to the Clinical SCT programme, we provide donor evaluation and collection services for Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust as one of their Collection Facilities. The CAR-T programme has established the first allogeneic CAR-T trial for ALL and in January 2019 we commenced delivery of commercial autologous CAR-T products for lymphoma and ALL.

This post is for a full time post-CCT Fellowship in Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy within the Department of Haematological Medicine at Kings College Hospital Foundation Trust. This post will focus on Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellulartherapy with a view to enhancing the skills of Transplant Physicians in accordance with FACTJACIE accreditation standards. This position will be an ideal opportunity to acquire supervised supplementary training in transplantation and cellular therapy following formal specialist training inHaematology and CCT. Appointees will be expected to undertake both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research is encouraged. The appointee must have (or be eligible for) GMC registration and have completed higher specialist training in haematology. A medical degreeor diploma from a recognised UK or overseas University or Institution is required. The appointee must have MRCP, MRCPath and CCT (or equivalent) is desirable. Haematology trainees within atraining programme who wish to take a year out of training will also be considered for this post if they have adequate initial experience.The appointment will be initially for a period of 1 year with the potential for renewal on an annual basis. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for this post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job will be discussed ona personal basis with the Trust.
