The Department of Urology at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), a Care Group within King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Urology Senior Clinical Fellow, to join our friendly and progressive team on a 12-month fixed term basis. The post will be 40 hours, plus on-call commitment based at PRUH site only (NB: This post is not for Denmark Hill).
The Urology Department at PRUH provides extensive emergency, inpatient and outpatient services to the Trust, and has a vital part to play in the successful and timely delivery of services for patients with cancer. Our dedicated Urology investigations unit is based at Beckenham Beacon where all our secretarial offices, outpatients' clinics, flexible cystoscopies, and local anaesthetic transperineal template biopsies take place. We have a dedicated Day Surgery Unit as well as main theatres at PRUH where we perform the full gamut of core urological procedures 5 days a week including upper tract endourological laser stone surgery, as well as a wide range of BPH treatments such Urolift, Bipolar TURP, greenlight laser prostatectomy and HoLEP.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a two Senior Clinical Fellows to work within the Urology team, Princess Royal University Hospital.
At PRUH we place a very strong emphasis on training and our weekly Consultant-led teaching programme is very well established and remains the foundation for the excellent track record we have of our senior clinical fellows being successful at National ST3 Urology applications. It is the expectation that the successful applicant will be trained to deliver these acute and diagnostic services in addition to developing their core urology and surgical skills to serve the needs of our local population under the supervision and guidance of our six Consultants.
