Team Lead Respiratory Outpatient Physiotherapist - Band 7
We have an exciting opportunity to join our experienced Respiratory Physiotherapy outpatient team here at King's College Hospital Denmark Hill site. This post proves an exciting opportunity to lead and develop your clinical and leadership skills working within the respiratory out-patients service.
The post would involve a clinical caseload including highly complex patient groups such as those with Chronic Cough, Hyperventilation Syndrome, COPD or Bronchiectasis as well as supervising, teaching and developing staff and students to meet individual and service needs.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist with a broad range of respiratory experience, excellent chronic care skills, demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to actively contribute to service development.
The role will provide an opportunity to work autonomously in the field of respiratory physiotherapy using clinical skills to assess and treat patients with chronic respiratory conditions and / or complex respiratory symptoms, in line with National and Trust clinical guidelines, protocols and pathways where they exist. This will include:
- To assess and treat patients with chronic respiratory disease such as COPD and Bronchiectasis, advising on airway clearance, exercise and support with adherence.
- To provide individual patient equipment as required, such as nebulizer equipment and airway clearance adjuncts.
- Assessment and treatment of patients with advanced respiratory and / or complex respiratory conditions such a chronic (refractory) cough and dysfunctional breathing patterns.
- To use clinical assessment and reasoning skills and evidence based knowledge to assess patients with highly complex conditions, and to formulate plans and interventions for them.
