Job summary
The Head of Nursing will work collaboratively with the General Manager and senior nursing team, reporting to the Clinical Director with professional accountability to the Site Director of Nursing.

Main duties of the job
The Head of Nursing will be managerially and professionally responsible for the leadership and clinical effectiveness for all the nurses within the Care Group. The Head of Nursing is an integral member of the triumvirate management team, reporting to and working closely with the General Manager and the Clinical Director.
The Head of Nursing will be expected to provide effective clinical leadership in ensuring that the nursing agenda is clearly part of the Care Group management team decision making. They will be responsible for the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards, delivery of safe high quality nursing and the development of nursing leadership capacity within the Care Group.
As part of the Care Group management team, the post-holder will be responsible for undertaking business planning, workforce planning and maximising service opportunities and potential. This will be in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, resource controls and constraints and will contribute to delivering the management strategy of patient services within the care group. The post holder may have additional portfolios added to the role.
