Ophthalmic Senior Staff Nurse
Are you looking for a new role that allows you to make a real difference to patient's quality of life? If so we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic, caring and flexible registered nurse to join team to deliver Intravitreal injection service, Preassessment and Oculoplastic service.
You are an already competent intravitreal injection or wish to develop this role and utilise your skills in other nurse delivered sessions, demonstrating how your ophthalmic skills, managerial and leadership experience will assist with prioritising their own and that of the team's workload to ensure a timely and coordinated patient appointment.
You must be embrace a receptive attitude to change with the ability to challenge practice and contribute to quality improvement and patient experience within the service.

King's College Hospital Ophthalmology clinic at Denmark Hill provides a wide range of Ophthalmic outpatient sub-speciality clinics, emergency eye care, nurse led pre and post operative assessment, intravitreal injections, oculoplastic procedures, and so much more.
The service is operational 7 day week, and the successful person will need to work flexibly .
Main duties of the job
The Post holder will
- Provide expert, holistic and high standard of care to patients and their relatives attending Kings College NHS Foundation Ophthalmology Care Group.
- Work with the MDT team to provide an intravitreal injection service and also participate and work within other services such as Preassessment and Oculoplastic to meet service requirement and own clinical development.
- Work with the nurse manager and/or nurse in charge to lead and coordinate unit activity with responsibility for the clinical area and a team.
- Assist with clinical education to a identified group of practitioners: registered nurses, ophthalmic technicians and new starters to the service, acting as a resource, positive role model and part of the multi-disciplinary
- Participate and implement pathways and new ways of working for an improved patient and team experience and service improvement
