Job summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Operational Estates Manager at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will lead in the responsibility for providing management, professional, technical / specialist services and to provide advice relating to plant and equipment utilised for control of space and environmental conditions as well as specialist plant and equipment used by the wide range of clinical services provided by PRUH and SS and partner organisations across the community estate.
Directly responsible for hard FM services covering the Trusts expanded estates, with particular focus on Orpington Hospital and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH).
You will work under the remit of the Site Director of Estates and Facilities - PRUH and South Sites and the Associate Director of Estates (cross-site).
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the Trusts directly employed staff and incumbent contractors looking after these sites (PFI and non-PFI sites), and to ensure that they provide both quality of service and value for money.
This role will have an operational understanding of clinical pathways, and ensure the provision of safe and comfortable environments for patients, visitors and staff; key to this will be a working knowledge of the engineering plant and ensuring that our contractors operate it efficiently while delivering the required outputs. This role will provide a Trust technical point of contact for Building and Engineering day to day aspects, and participate in the process of producing maintenance strategies, developing capital project work and the replacement of plant and equipment.
This role will also ensure all applicable statutory and mandatory obligations are met, and that Trust policies and procedures are adhered to. The post holder will also be expected to keep abreast of and manage the changing face of the NHS with particular emphasis on Estates Service Provision.
