Registered Staff Nurse - Liver Endoscopy

Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated registered nurses to join our dynamic and skilled team at our busy endoscopy unit at King's College Hospital Denmark Hill site. The endoscopy unit is a JAG accredited five-roomed facility with GA and fluoroscopy and provides both a comprehensive diagnostic service as well complex and innovative therapeutic procedures.

Applicants should have recent acute hospital experience. Endoscopy experience is desirable but not essential as you will receive extensive education and training to develop into a highly skilled practitioner within a challenging and demanding environment.

We are open 7 days a week. The shift pattern is 4 x 9.5 hour shifts per week. Shifts are either 8am to 6pm or 9am to 7pm.

The post holder will also be required to participate in the on call gastrointestinal bleed rota within the service.

Main duties of the job

You will be a part of an experienced team delivering individual patient care Endoscopy is an ever - changing speciality, and this job will give you the chance to become a specialised nurse, in an area where no 2 days are the same.

Duties will include

  • Admitting patients and preparing them for their procedure
  • Caring and supporting patients while they have their endoscopy procedure
  • Assisting the endoscopist during the procedure
  • Caring for patients in recovery
  • Discharging patients after their procedure

You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, to help improve both the patient experience and the nursing care.
