Do you feel ready for a new challenge?An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking and motivated midwife who can help us to develop our Maternity Services. We are looking for dynamic, experienced midwives to join our Band 7 team of Labour Ward Coordinators.

The successful candidate will already be working at an advanced level with a wide range of clinical skills and experience in various departments providing high quality care whilst support junior staff members.The post holder will provide clinical leadership and carry overall responsibility for the management and co-ordination of a team of midwives, support worker and students within the obstetric led unit, MLU and triage.

In this key role you will work closely with both the Labour Ward Manager, and Midwifery Matron to ensure that high standards of care and quality assurance is maintained.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion and determination to support the senior midwifery team in line with the exciting national picture of care and compassion, as well as a local picture of quality improvement. You will need to have good knowledge and skill base of both midwifery clinical practice and local leadership.You will coordinate a team of midwives and develop practice as a midwifery expert; providing advice to colleagues in the organisation and working in partnership with a range of other agencies.Leading by example is crucial in collaborative working within the multidisciplinary team to maintain the Trust s values and maternity s philosophy of care. We are very proud of the maternity services that we provide and are looking for influential midwifery leaders to continue raising the standard of clinical practice.

You will be resilient and able to manage complex situations as well as being well organised and innovative. A proven track record of supporting change processes, coupled with good influencing and negotiation skills are key attributes required for these posts in order to provide an integrated and effective service focusing on the delivery and assurance of safe, high quality patient care across our services.

About us

The Trust's services are provided from three locations:

o The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.o Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.o Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire.
