This is an exciting opportunity for a substantive Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join the team in our new state of the art purpose-built Women & Children's Building which opened September 2025.The successful candidate will join an existing team of 13 dynamic consultants.
The successful applicant will be expected to deliver clinical excellence and demonstrate a strong commitment to multi-professional working. We are open to applicants with any area of special interest and are keen to support in the development of this, however job plans will include antenatal clinic, labour ward cover, general gynaecology clinic, caesarean section lists and emergency gynaecology as a basic structure with additional sessions depending on the applicants skills. On a 10 PA contract non working sessions will be facilitated.
Main duties of the job
You will need to demonstrate how your skill mix will help the department thrive and develop. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the non-resident 3rd on call rota, which is currently 1 in 12.
It is also expected that the successful candidate would take an active role in the various local, regional and national quality and safety agendas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with opportunities over time to develop leadership skills.
