Senior Respiratory Physiologist Band 6
Working Full time : 37.5 hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the Respiratory service within the Cardio, Respiratory and Vascular Department at The Countess of Chester Hospital. The individual will perform routine and complex procedures and produce accurate reports to support clinical decisions. The successful applicant will work with the current Lead and Team to support the development and provision of service.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of the wider Respiratory Service at The Countess of Chester Hospital.
To provide a diagnostic service of routine, complex and specialised lung procedures and to produce an accurate report. To provide supervision, training and support for more junior staff and training for staff from otherdisciplines.To continue own professional development, to facilitate and progress in the extensive range of tests performed to enable service development.The list below is to outline the main duties involved; however this is subject to change and will vary within the given role. Main duties of the job
1. To provide a service for diagnostics investigations and to provide, record and report accurate results in accordance with guidelines.2. To prioritise and manage own workload on a daily basis and respond flexibly to unplanned change. Delegating and assisting other colleagues in routine and more complex procedures.3. To assist the lead in all aspects of Respiratory diagnostic tests.4. To assist the lead in taking responsibility for respiratory patients undergoing diagnostic tests that could provoke adverse reactions.5. Analysis, interpretation and reporting of complex tests for hospital and GP referrals.6. Autonomous reporting of routine diagnostic tests with results direct to GPs, overseeing of same for junior staff.7. Reporting without medical input on diagnostic tests unless a respiratory opinion is deemed necessary by reporting physiologist.8. Reporting autonomously of specialised tests for all consultants teams.9. To assist the lead in providing a comprehensive service for routine10. Administration of medication within patient group directives.11. To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all equipment and safety of patients and staff. Ensuring competency of use of equipment prior to use.12. To undertake any other duties appropriate to grade and to demonstrate a flexible approach to the departments workload to meet the changing needs of the service.13. To perform physiologist tests with minimal supervision.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
