Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics with a specialist interest in hand surgery
Working Full time : 10 Sessions per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated team player to join our well established Orthopaedic Department at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.The successful candidate will be a Full Time (10 PAs) appointment in Trauma and Orthopaedics with a specialist interest in hand surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to have Consultant level-expertise in general trauma surgery, plus a special interest in complex hand surgery.
The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of 13 existing consultants in order to provide a complete Trauma and Orthopaedic service. The department is also undergoing an exciting service expansion at present. The post may require the appointee to work flexibly by working at the South of the Mersey Hub located at Clatterbridge Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be responsible for the care of patients referred by general practitioners, other hospital Consultants and other hospital departments and will undertake clinics, ward rounds and theatre lists. 'Programmed Activities' as appropriate.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. - CCT/CCST in Orthopaedic surgery or equivalent and on the specialist register, or within 6 months of CCT/CCST at the time of application.
