This is an exciting opportunity for a replacement substantive Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with a special interest in High risk Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine.
We are looking for an outstanding colleague who will complement and enhance our obstetric and gynaecology services. The postholder will be expected to have an interest in high risk obstetrics and fetal medicine and work with the existing team of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
Main duties of the job
Additional responsibilities within high risk Obstetrics will include leading a high risk antenatal clinic, multiple pregnancy clinic and a pre and post pregnancy counselling service along with the other Consultants with an interest in high risk pregnancies.
It is also expected that the successful candidate would take an active role in the various local, regional and national quality and safety agendas.
The post could include a gynaecology component dependent on the skills of the successful candidate and in line with the department's requirements. This would most likely be ambulatory/outpatient gynaecology or emergency gynaecology.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the non-resident 3rd on call rota, which is currently 1 in 12.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. - Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility
