Working Full Time: 37.5 hours per weekAn opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and professional sonographer to join our friendly hard working ultrasound team. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified individuals who will be given every support to gain experience within their role.We act as a clinical placement site for the University of Cumbria's Direct Access MSc Ultrasound programme and there are opportunities to engage in the training and mentorship of student sonographers.Applicants must hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (PgCert, PgDip or Direct-Entry Masters) and be eligible to work in the United Kingdom with HCPC/NMC/ equivalent registration.
Main duties of the job
- Work autonomously within guidelines and reporting protocols, performing high quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in order to aid appropriate / necessary patient management.
- Effectively communicate information regarding diagnosis from scan findings either verbally or in writing directly to clinicians and patients.
- To use analytical and judgmental skills to interpret ultrasound images, accurately differentiating betweennormal and pathological findings.
- Supervise, educate and technically train multidisciplinary Under- and Post-graduate staff in all aspects of ultrasound
