An exciting opportunity has arisen for new Clinical Research Fellows (CRFs)

The fellowship is aimed at surgical trainees who have obtained their MRCS/FRCS and have completed at least one clinical year with middle grade on call. CRFs will be salaried (and paid by the local NHS trust) through their support of the out of hours on call rota at their base trust. Colorectal research projects will be supervised by the academic surgical team at the University of Liverpool and depending on the nature of the project may also involve collaboration with other external stakeholders. Research projects will range from qualitative projects investigating health inequalities and palliative care, through to translational wet lab projects and large scale bioinformatic projects.
CRF will be registered for an MD thesis with the University of Liverpool, with bench fees covered by the programme (CRFs will be expected to pay for university part time fees). Based on progress and subject to external funding CRFs may switch to a PhD following review by the academic team and programme lead.
