Treating Tobacco Dependency Advisor (Internal only)

The Treating Tobacco Dependency Advisor will support the delivery of the Trust's treating tobacco dependency service, providing specialist behavioural support to help patients stop smoking during their hospital stay and after discharge. Recognising tobacco dependence as a chronic, treatable condition, the role promotes a smoke-free environment and improved patient health outcomes.

Hours per week: 15

The post is part-time (15 hours per week) and offered as a secondment/fixed-term contract for 12 months in the first instance.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will act as a first point of contact for patients, carrying out assessments, offering evidence-based behavioural support, and advising on appropriate pharmacotherapy in line with National Centre for Smoking Cessation Training (NCSCT) and NICE guidance. The role includes liaising with clinical teams, supporting onward referrals, and contributing to service development

  • European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent experience.
  • Level 3 Health or social care qualification (e.g. NVQ or similar) or equivalent experience.
