Job summary
East Cheshire NHS Trust is looking for a part-time Treating Tobacco Dependency Nurse for a secondment/fixed term contract period of 9 months in the first instance.
The Team works under the premise that tobacco dependency is a chronic, relapsing clinical condition that prematurely kills at least half of people who smoke and that smoking is a medical condition that can be treated, rather than as a lifestyle choice.
Hours per week: 18.75
We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.
Non-UK or Irish applicants should check their visa and this role's eligibility for sponsorship before applying. For further information please visit Visas and immigration - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non-UK residents.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will, as part of the tobacco dependency team, work in a clinical and strategic role to develop and provide stop smoking treatment, counselling and support to patients who have recently been admitted to hospital to support them to quit smoking.
We expect the Treating Tobacco Dependency Nurse to use their professional experience, judgement and initiative when working with patients and colleagues to champion a smoke free environment, promote change within the Trust and to bring about long-term health improvements to patients.
