This post will be on a fixed term contract from August 2026 to August 2027, but may be extended if mutually beneficial for a further year. Maximum tenure: 2 years.
The post-holder will work under the guidance of the Undergraduate Medical Education Leads.
Hours per week: 40
The hours of this post are 8.00/8.30/9.00 am - 4.00/4.30/5.00 pm.
There will be an occasional requirement to work earlier and/or later, for example during exams or revision periods.
Annual Leave:As per NHS jobs- 27 days pro rata (1.0 WTE)increasing to 29 days pro rata (1.0 WTE) after 5 years of NHS service.
Main duties of the job
East Cheshire NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Education Fellow to join the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) team. The post-holder will play a key leadership role in the coordination, delivery, and day-to-day management of undergraduate medical education across placements for the University of Manchester and the University of Buckingham.
In addition to providing senior operational oversight, the role includes a substantial teaching commitment. The successful candidate will design and deliver high-quality teaching sessions, contribute directly to clinical education across placements, and support curriculum development and innovation.
They will supervise and support three Education Fellows, oversee programme delivery, ensure effective operational running of teaching activities, and maintain high standards of educational quality and student experience.
The post-holder will work closely with the Undergraduate Medical Education Leads, who, alongside the Clinical Undergraduate Leads for both Universities, retains overall responsibility for strategy and local programme delivery. The role includes significant involvement in assessment, quality assurance, team leadership, and educational development. This post provides an opportunity to further develop skills in leadership, educational governance, and programme management experience within a well-established and expanding UGME team.
