Job summary
Macclesfield Hospital is a busy District General Hospital situated in Cheshire, close to the beautiful Peak District and within easy reach of the centre of Manchester.
The Cardio-Respiratory department is based on the Macclesfield site and offers a wide range of non-invasive investigations.
We are looking to appoint a full time, enthusiastic and motivated admin/ booking clerk to support our dynamic Cardio-Respiratory Team.
You will need to be computer literate, flexible and willing to learn new skills. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and must have a positive and proactive approach to work. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills as you will be dealing with staff and patients by phone, email and face to face. Knowledge of medical terminology, administration and organisational experience is essential.

This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am-5pm in line with departmental opening hours.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the cardio-respiratory booking and admin team to plan, book and schedule outpatient cardio-respiratory appointments ensuring that both Government and Trust targets are met.
Working with the department manager to ensure that cardio-respiratory clinic capacity is utilised efficiently and effectively.
Managing all follow up waiting lists ensuring appropriate prioritisation of patients including giving patients a choice of day and time where possible.
Dealing with all administrative enquiries including face to face, incoming calls and emails and assisting patients and staff with booking/re-booking appointments.
