Job summary
**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.**
To provide basic and advanced assistance to trained personnel within the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) department as delegated by the Registered Nurse on a shift basis.
Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job
Maintain general tidiness of Unit, replenishing stock levels as required
Answering telephone calls referring all enquiries to the appropriate person.
Cleaning and treating with care, equipment used in the patients area, ensuring correct storage when not in use.
Carry out vena-puncture when required
Carry out cannulation/ removal of cannulas when required
Obtain blood samples for venous blood gas analysis, and analyse all gas samples where required
Performing and documenting basic vital signs - Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respirations, Temperature and Urine output.
Performing 12 lead ECGs
