Staff Nurse in Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit (Ward 7) - Band 5

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our team. Ward 7 is a 28 bedded medical ward specialising in Cardiology treating both male & female adult patients. Our 4 bedded Coronary Care Unit provides specialist care to cardiac patients requiring primary PCI, pacemakers & ICD's. We also manage conditions such as endocarditis & heart failure.

Our medical wards can be busy & challenging environments. In joining our team, you will bring your skills & passion to provide the highest quality patient-focused care & compassion for our patients. You must be a team player with excellent communications skills & have the ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of the wider team.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Ward Manager the role of a Band 5 Staff Nurse is to support the Ward Manager assess, plan, implement, evaluate and deliver high quality, evidence-based, holistic person-centred care and to assist in the supervision of more junior members of staff.

In the absence of Band 6/7 Nurse the post holder will be required to act as team leader who will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the rostered shift.
