Job summary

Applications are invited from a highly motivated and dynamic Doctor to apply for a vacancy within our General Medicine and Cardiology Team Team on Ward 7.

The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community based services, including an emergency department, acute medicine and emergency surgery; elective surgery in many specialties; maternity services and cancer services. Our community health services include; district nursing, intermediate care, occupational and physiotherapy, community dental services, speech and language therapy and palliative care. We also provide a number of hospital services in partnership with other local trusts and private providers, including pathology, urology and renal dialysis services.

The basic salary for this role is outlined above based on a 40 hour working week. In addition, there will be enhancements for additional rostered hours (over 40), night rate hours and weekend working allowance in line with the relevant Nodal Point under the new Resident Doctor Contract 2016 pay scales. The value of the enhancement for the role can be provided upon request, however, this is subject to any future rota changes in line with service need.

This post is available for a fixed term from 1-Dec-2025 to 4-Aug-2026

Hours per week: 40 plus enhancements (inclusive on 1 in 12 on-call rota)

Main duties of the job

The teams on Ward 7 strive to provide high-quality service in a safe environment where the needs of each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner by using all available specialist knowledge and skills. The wellbeing of all our patients relies on appropriate and timely assessment, investigation, treatment and care. The aim is to promote optimum health through communication, teaching and provision of adequate information.The successful candidate will participate in out of hours on call alongside ST3+ training doctors.Within the working week, 1 specialist clinic will be identified as part the job plan and inclusion on the on-call rota.

You must have 12 months UK NHS experience.

The starting salary paypoint can only be increased when there is evidence of relevant, completed years' experience in terms of nature, type and level of role.
