We are seeking an experienced BSCCP (British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology)-accredited Nurse Colposcopist to join the Gynaecology team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. Working across all sites, you will practice autonomously, undertaking diagnostic, therapeutic, and treatment procedures using advanced clinical judgment.
The role involves supporting and developing the colposcopy service to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will coordinate clinic capacity, work collaboratively with the Lead Consultant Colposcopist, and contribute to achieving clinical objectives.
In addition to diagnostic procedures, you will be trained or willing to train in surgical excisions and ablative treatments, with responsibility for clinical management and care programmes. You may also act as a Colposcopy trainer in line with BSCCP requirements.
Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job
The Nurse Colposcopist will assist the multidisciplinary team by undertaking advanced patient assessment and intervention/treatment for patients as an independent Practitioner. In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care.
They will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits within the specialist area. The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.Also ensures the safety and wellbeing of services users and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person-centred care principles.
