Main duties of the job

Hours per week: 37.5

The successful candidate for this secondment opportunity will be self-driven to lead on the development of patient care and new innovations, across cardiology, respiratory and gastroenterology specialties.

Responsible for delivering the requirements of the key roles outlined in the Matron's Handbook (NHS, 2021) and associated Matron Competencies.

Responsible for senior professional leadership to the nursing workforce within the directorate, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.

To deliver professional and operational priorities and quality improvement programmes supporting the operational management of the Directorate.

Responsible for visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership, patient experience and the delivery of safe, timely, high quality care across the identified clinical areas. Leading on the delivery of National key performance indicators.

Promote/adhere to professional standards of care and promote a professional image of nursing that inspires confidence in the team, service users, family members and carers and the healthcare community as a whole. Additionally creating an environment that supports staff well-being
