Job summary

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our friendly Administration Team in the busy and rewarding Emergency Department based at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

The post holder will provide comprehensive reception and administration service ensuring patients are admitted to the Emergency Department and the Wards efficiently and accurately providing a high standard of customer care.

This is varied role and we want someone who truly embraces working within a diverse team in a busy and challenging environment, therefore you must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, have a pleasant and caring personality and have the ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure. You must be able to demonstrate that you have worked on your own and at times with limited supervision. Experience of working within the NHS is desirable.

Rotas in the Emergency Department cover 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

This is a permanent postFULL / PART TIME hours considered, you MUST be flexible to work over 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year as the department is never closed.

Main duties of the job

As part of a team this role carries responsibility for the smooth running of the Accident and Emergency Department, providing a high quality and fully comprehensive customer care service in all daily activities.

To carry out the full range of administration and clerical duties which will include attending and discharging patients from A & E including processing emergency ward admissions.

The role supports the clinical and managerial staff within the department and requires an underpinning knowledge and experience of the different electronic NHS and other software systems used by the clerical staff.

This role will contribute to supporting the Emergency Departmental finances by paying special attention to the accuracy of robust and accurate data collection.
