We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a dynamic Locum Consultant Doctor to support our General Medicine Department based at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The General Medicine Locum Consultant will provide senior expertise within the General Medicine Department and be able to manage the full range of presentations in their specific area of practice. An autonomous practice framework will be agreed along with this job description summary, which will outline the defined level of competency for the post holder in relation to independent and autonomous practice. A Consultant mentor will be provided for support.
The post holder will be responsible for adhering to the generic capabilities' framework outlined nationally for Specialists. Please refer to the Person Specification which details these competencies and how they should be evidenced.
In addition, the post holder will be required to support the Acute Physicians in the SDEC department or undertake specialist clinics as well as teaching of junior doctors and medical students.
About us
NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level. For new starters not already working to UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions of service will be appointed to the minimum paypoint. The starting salary paypoint can only be increased when there is evidence of relevant, completed year's experience in terms of nature, type and level of role.
