Job summary

Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic Junior Doctors to apply for the post of Junior Clinical Fellow in our friendly hospital. This post will be F2 level dependent upon your previous experience and will be across the Acute Care Specialties including General Medicine, Care of the Elderly, Respiratory, Cardiology and Gastroenterology.

Working hours will be 40 per week. All rotas are based on compliant shift patterns that meet the requirements of the New Junior Doctor Contract 2016.

Any changes to working pattern will be compliant with EWTD targets and will be implemented as fairly as possible, but as a successful applicant you must expect to have periodic changes to your working hours as rota patterns alter and working practices evolve.

Fixed Term - 12 months

Interview date 22nd January 2024

Main duties of the job

The vacancies are new roles to support patient flow across the medical wards so a level of flexibility is required. An area of responsibility will be allocated, however, the needs of the service may necessitate a change of location to support minimum core levels of staffing.

The post will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to gain new skills or consolidate existing knowledge, whilst also providing valuable clinical exposure. You will also be afforded training opportunities as outlined later in this document, however, please note that JCF posts are not recognised for formal training.

About us

Please be aware that this post requires an Enhanced with Barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate.

If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance. Further information can be found on the additional information links at the bottom of the advert.

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course our patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. We will be checking the vaccination status of all new starters as part of ongoing monitoring.
