Job summary

To work as part of the Radiology Booking and Admin Team to plan, book and schedule appointments in plain film, fluoroscopy, MRI, CT and Ultrasound as required ensuring that both Government and Trust targets are met.

To ensure that diagnostic capacity is utilised efficiently and effectively.

To manage the Diagnostic requests and Waiting Lists on the Radiology RIS system ensuring appropriate prioritisation of patients including giving patients a choice of day, time and location of their appointment where ever possible, adhering to Government and Trust targets.

Answer incoming calls, assisting patients with specific enquiries, booking/re-booking appointments or re-directing to the appropriate clinical area.

Covering main reception desk when needed.

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

The Radiology Booking Clerk provides a service to all Radiology patients, agreeing appointment times and dates with patients, relative or carers and medical staff, over the telephone, by letter or in person, acting within protocols for safety, diet and medication and endeavouring to provide an efficient service to all internal departments and external users.
