Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in East Cheshire NHS Trust for an Occupational Therapist to join our acute therapy team at Macclesfield District General Hospital. We are a friendly multidisciplinary team made up of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy assistants. We provide assessment and treatments for a wide variety of patients including those with complex needs, covering the medical and surgical wards, orthopaedics, OPAL/ frailty team and intermediate care.
What we are looking for:
- An enthusiastic and well-rounded HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with experience of working in the NHS or having had extensive placements within the organisation.
- The candidate should provide a patient centred approach to care an under pinning sound clinical specialist knowledge in evidence based assessment and management of a variety of conditions.
- It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within trust policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
Hours per week: 37.5
Main duties of the job
As a clinical specialist provide a high standard comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment service to acute elderly and medical inpatients with complex presentation, working as an autonomous clinician, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, making diagnoses where appropriate, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression.
