An exciting opportunity has arisen in East Cheshire NHS Trust to join our new cohort of Trainee Nursing Associates.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through the Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) apprenticeship.

We are looking formotivated, caring and dedicated individuals who are willing to commit to this 2 year training programme, bridging the gap between the role of the care support worker and registered nurse to become part of our Nursing family .

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

The next Trainee Nursing Associates (TNA) programme will commence in March 2024. You will work as a TNA and train over a 2 year period to attain a Level 5 Foundation Degree qualification and Higher apprenticeship. As an apprenticeship programme you will have the opportunity to ''earn while you learn'. You will undertake your academic study at university, spending 1 day a week at university and 4 days working in a clinical area. You will be required to move around to different placements both internal and external to the Trust as you will develop skills across the four disciplines of nursing: Adult, Child, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health.

You will be employed as a Band 3 Trainee Nursing Associate on a 2 year fixed term contract working 37.5 hours a week for the duration of the programme.

Successful completion of this programme will lead to registering with the NMC Nursing Associate role and future employment opportunities as a Band 4 Nursing Associate.

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above OR a Level 2 equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Care or related subject
  • 1 A Level or 2 AS Levels in an appropriate subject level
  • AVCE or BTEC National Diploma
  • QAA recognised Access course
  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to study through a Portfolio of evidence (workbased) which demonstrates
  • ability/potential to work and study at Level 4 (and eventually Level to level 5 foundation degree level
  • In date with clinical stat and mandatory training.

Desirable

  • Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education Level
  • Essential induction training and experience - care certificate or equivalent
